This photo, called “Trail Of Tears” is one of the most famous and tragic photos taken during the wars in Former Yugoslavia. It shows a column of Krajina Serbs being expelled by Croat forces in 1995 during Operation Storm. Over 450,000 Serbs were expelled in total.

Correction: The Krajina Serbs were not ‘expelled’. They left on their own accord. It is a good thing they did since the 10,000 or so that stayed behind were slaughtered by the Croatian Army. It should also be added that the United States aided the Croatian Army by bombarding Serb positions.
